In the Stars November 27-December 4, 2016…shining light on the astrology of the week: New Moon

The Thanksgiving weekend comes to a close on Sunday with the depth and sparkle of the Moon’s sextile to Pluto and Venus. Did you move something far forward with the energy of the Jupiter-Pluto square over the holiday weekend? The Sun shines in Sagittarius tropically, highlighting adventure, travel, philosophy, spirituality, other cultures, and holiday parties.

During Sunday’s productive morning and early afternoon, plan the week ahead. The Moon is Void of Course at 1:48 PM PST for the rest of the day and evening. Relax and watch a movie Sunday evening, and call it an early night to get adequate rest for the coming week.

The work week begins slowly Monday morning with a Void of Course Moon until 12:46 PM PST when the Moon moves into enthusiastic, upbeat Sagittarius. The Moon is dark, just before the New Moon. Usually when the Moon is in Sag we are outgoing and gregarious, but the dark Moon draws us inward before the new lunar cycle begins.

Tuesday’s New Moon comes with numerous planetary pairings and resulting activity. Relationship issues are highlighted. Juno (asteroid symbolizing partnership) is exactly conjunct the Sun and Moon. Venus squares Uranus; the day’s aspects invite possibilities and new ways of relating.

The adventurous Sagittarius Moon continues to color Wednesday with potential. We may wander off course and entertain fantasies (Sun square Neptune). A lunar trine to Uranus stirs excitement.

December begins with a strong focus on work, and the tasks ahead as we prepare for the holidays, and the close of 2016. An energetic Mars-Jupiter trine on Thursday helps us focus on long-term goals and get a lot accomplished. Friday explodes with action from the morning’s Moon-Pluto conjunction, the afternoon’s Moon-Uranus square, and Venus’ entry into Capricorn. Make the most of this extremely productive day.

Mars makes a benefic sextile to Saturn on Saturday, giving us another focused day to get things accomplished. Plan errands and purchases for the afternoon, after the Moon has gone into Aquarius at 11:44 PST. Enjoy a social evening with a diverse group of friends.

The Sun and Moon make benefic alignments Sunday. Gather with friends for stimulating conversations that will expand your thinking. The stars are aligned Sunday for an excellent board meeting of our Green Earth Foundation (or whatever projects you may have planned).

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
