In the Stars November 20-27, 2016…shining light on the astrology of the week

The week ahead is for achieving great things. The planetary theme is the Jupiter-Pluto square, exact on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, with Uranus is tied in, forming a T-square. This aspect can arouse us to achieve great things. However, efforts may run into resistance from others. I heard an interview on NPR radio in which a woman stated she would not be going to her family’s Thanksgiving dinner due to opposing political views. This aspect makes us prone to conflict with people with whom we do not agree. Avoid obsession with your own point of view or course of action. Manage this Jupiter-Pluto-Uranus T-square by remembering that despite our differences, we are all part of the human family. The potential in this powerful aspect is to become empowered to lead, transform, and invent. The empty point of the T-square, the resolution, is the sign of Cancer, symbolizing compassion, home, and family.

Sunday is a playful, creative day that glows with the beauty of yesterday. The Leo Moon makes a Fire Grand Trine with Saturn and Uranus, a day not to be wasted on the ordinary. Fire up your creativity and engage in a hobby that brings you joy, or turn up the music and dance!

Hopefully you have withdrawn into an inward journey the past month, and are now ready to socialize. The Sun moves into fun-loving Sagittarius on Monday for the month ahead. Say “yes” to holiday parties. Monday’s Moon is in practical, industrious Virgo. Now is the time to shoot for the Moon, and get to work getting there.

Mercury sextiles Jupiter on Tuesday, expanding and uplifting thoughts and communication. An early morning Moon-Pluto trine calls for deep cleaning. The Moon is Void of Course all day, so stick with cleaning up messes rather than wasting your time in meetings, or trying to make things happen.

Thanksgiving preparations will not get started until the afternoon Wednesday, as the Moon is Void of Course all morning, and energy is undefined. Finish tidying up and attend to routine matters. Mercury is conjunct Saturn, restraining thought and communication. Given the bold energy of the Jupiter-Pluto square, this could be a good thing. The Moon enters amiable Libra in the afternoon, and we’ll want to put a touch of class and beauty on our holiday celebrations.

Thanksgiving Day arrives with the grace of a Libra Moon. The Jupiter-Pluto square that has been at play all week perfects. Give thanks, and get going on achieving your big ideas. However, note that excessive force wielding one’s strong convictions can be the shadow side of this aspect.  To make the best of it, we must challenge our beliefs, let go of those that no longer serve, and then get on with the pursuit of big goals. A Moon-Saturn sextile tempers the forceful energy.

Venus joins the Jupiter-Pluto square, fueling desires on Friday. The focus is on finances, as all three of these planets focus on some aspect of that subject. Venus is associated with making and spending money; Jupiter is focused on increase and abundance; and Pluto symbolizes wealth. The Moon is Void of Course all day, and it is Black Friday. While the tendency may be to shop and snatch some bargains, curb any tendency to do so, and focus your energy elsewhere. Sound decisions are not supported when the Moon is VoC.

Saturday and Sunday demand solitude, colored by a Scorpio Moon. Feelings are strong, and power struggles and jealousy can show up. Insight can result from deep reflection. Mercury trines Uranus, delivering bursts of brilliance and exciting ideas. A Moon-Neptune trine offers vision.

The Thanksgiving weekend comes to a close on Sunday with the depth and sparkle of the Moon’s sextile to Pluto and Venus. Plan the week ahead during the productive morning and early afternoon. The Moon is Void of Course at 1:48 PM PST for the rest of the day and evening. Relax and watch a movie Sunday evening, and call it an early night to get adequate rest for the coming week.

The Week in Short:

Sunday: Grand Fire trine inspires and ignites.

Monday: Sun in to Sagittarius. Party time for the next month. Virgo Moon: get organized.

Tuesday: Expand and uplift communication. Virgo Moon VoC all day. Time for deep cleaning.

Wednesday: Moon VoC all morning, so don’t expect much until the afternoon. Think before you speak.

Thursday: Time to achieve big goals, but temper the tendency to be boastful.

Friday: Focus on finances, but say “No” to Black Friday shopping. Moon VoC all day.

Saturday: Exciting ideas are generated, and bursts of brilliance abound. Feelings run deep.

Sunday: Productive, sparkling morning. Moon VoC after 1:48 PM PST. Take it easy late afternoon and evening and call it an early night.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.

One Response to In the Stars November 20-27, 2016…shining light on the astrology of the week

  1. Joseph John Lang, Ph.D. says:

As I was just reviewing the week, I am noticing that there’s a lot of VoC time! And Jupiter in its aspects with Pluto and Uranus is not easy at all. For some reason I am feeling “blitzed” by it all.

I never find the period from Thanksgiving until past Christmas as the “merry” time it’s “supposed to be,” and I am natal Sagittarius. I think that Saturn in Sagittarius is not helping make things bright. I am saddled with tremendous responsibilities. Also by “vagueness” among people I should be able to rely on.

For some reason I just want to withdraw from all the commotion around me. Socializing sounds great, but I have too many burdensome issues to attend to, including health. Well, so it is with me . . .
