In the Stars July 26-August 2, 2015…shining light on the astrology of the week: Full Moon

This is a week of planetary directional shifts that may result in life shifts. Venus has turned retrograde for the next six weeks on Saturday at 0 degrees Virgo tropically. A few hours later early Sunday morning, Uranus turns retrograde. A third planet, Saturn, turns retrograde Saturday night PDT/Sunday morning EDT and GMT. When planets change directions, their energies are amplified. Relationships are on schedule for a review, and there may be changes of mind about relationships in the coming weeks. Saturn symbolizes limits and boundaries: Uranus symbolizes breaking through limits and boundaries. With these two planetary energies highlighted this week, limitations may morph into inventions.

Sunday and Monday are buoyant days with the Moon in Sagittarius, where it leads with optimism to end one week and begin another. Minds open, and ideas flow. These are good days for adventurous outings or other expansive undertakings. The mutable fire Moon in Sag forms a Grand Fire trine with Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Leo. Monday and Tuesday are blessed with possibilities as the Moon trines Uranus on Monday and Jupiter and Venus on Tuesday.

The Moon is Void-of-Course all morning Tuesday until 11:47 AM PDT. While the Void Moon in Sagittarius is energetic, it is meandering, so take a hike or get some vigorous exercise. It’s an aimless period of time that doesn’t support meetings or definitive decisions. At 11:47 PDT the Moon moves into practical, hard-working Capricorn. So welcome an afternoon and evening that can be productive—and also enjoyable in the glow of the Venus-Moon trine.

The productivity that results from the Capricorn Moon continues Wednesday and through mid-afternoon Thursday. The Moon conjuncts Pluto mid-day Wednesday and then squares Uranus, packing a powerful punch. Use this intense energy Wednesday and Thursday morning to push through projects and bring your July goals toward completion.
Thursday the Moon is VoC from 11:50 AM-2:40 PM, and then it moves into Aquarius through Saturday afternoon. In this sector, the Moon fosters friendship and acceptance of all, as well as innovation and invention. This is one of those times to really seize the promise of this week, referred to at the outset above.

The Saturn station in which Saturn turns into direct motion is exact Saturday night/Sunday morning (10:53 PM PDT/5:53 GMT). This station colors the few days before and after with Saturnian themes: limits, consequences, doubts, sobriety, practicality, and mastery. These are days to honor the power of limits, and to be more realistic and responsible.

Friday, July 31, the Aquarius Moon is Full, reflecting the light of the Sun in Leo. Leo represents the self, and Aquarius represents the collective. This Full Moon highlights individual intention and action combined with the power of the collective. This Moon will shine its light on the 45th class reunion of my Chillicothe (Missouri) Class of 1970. It will be a brilliant renewal of small-town friendships that percolated for years and have endured. Create your own fun gathering of friends on this Full Moon if you’re not one of the CHS Class of 1970.

Saturday is a dynamic day full of aspects. Moon-Jupiter and Moon-Venus oppositions are exuberant and expansive. A Moon-Saturn stationary square is restrictive. A lot is at play. Make this an awesome day, noting the combined gifts of exuberance and surprise coupled with responsibility and restraint.

Sunday is a soft, sweet, inspiring day. A Mercury-Uranus trine emboldens thoughts and ideas. Set up energizing and imaginative conversations by planning to spend time with others.

The Week in Short:
Sunday: A brilliant, sunny day for adventure and exploration.
Monday: Draw inspiration, express enthusiasm, and be innovative, and expect surprise.
Tuesday: Do vigorous exercise in the morning. VoC Moon all morning, so delay meetings and definitive activities until the afternoon. Sweetness abounds.
Wednesday: Productive day to get a lot accomplished if you apply yourself.
Thursday: Productive morning. VoC period 11:50-2:40 PM PDT. Then Aquarius Moon ushers in a sociable evening.
Friday: Full Moon calls for a playful evening with friends that includes responsibility and restraint.
Saturday: Bold, dynamic day. Saturn stations. Exercise caution and responsibility while experiencing expansive connections and joy.
Sunday: Inspiring day. Engage in imaginative conversations.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet and before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. You will more easily get lost or meander if you’re trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
