Mercury is still retrograde through Wednesday, and the lateness of this post this week is due to a technical communication glitch that can typically show up during these retrograde periods. A plug-in on the site blocked my ability to post until that got figured out and disabled. Inconvenient and the cause of delay, but so be it. Undoubtedly computer technicians and web hosting companies are busier during these Mercury retrograde periods.
To re-iterate, we are sailing toward the 7th and final Uranus-Pluto square on March 16, ending a three-year period of revolutionary change. It won’t end precisely on March 16, as there will be a subsequent period of integration; yet, the next five weeks give us strong energy to continue major change and transformation. The invitation for each of us personally is to seize this opening to step boldly forward into the changes we want to make in our lives. Each week when the Moon highlights this square, there is a thrust of dynamic change energy available. Consciously use these weekly thrusts to make the big changes in your life that you want to make.
The Libra Moon is Void-of-Course all day Monday until it moves into Scorpio at 11:05 PM Pacific Time. Monday’s Void Moon does not support a dynamic, definitive start to this week. Meetings are likely to be meandering and indecisive. This is a day for reading, cleaning, and puttering—not one for decision making. The Libra Moon fosters pleasant interactions.
Tuesday and Wednesday the Moon is in Scorpio, taking us into the depths of feeling. These are days when we need more quiet, solitary time, counter to the Sun’s placement in Aquarius that wants to be in the mix of diverse friends and acquaintances. Take these days for yourself. A lunar trine to Neptune fosters faith and compassion.
Wednesday is activated by numerous planetary aspects. Mercury stations and turns direct on Wednesday: Ideas abound, but may be difficult to process or express. Lunar squares to Jupiter and the Sun may correspond to feeling overextended, but lunar trines to Venus and Mars support friendship and vitality, and they enable accomplishments.
We’re uplifted by the Moon’s entry into Sagittarius on Thursday, coloring most of the next three days bright and sunny! Sagittarius symbolizes freedom and optimism. Saturn joins the Moon at 4 degrees of Sagittarius on Thursday and brings a heavy dose of sensibility that our big goals require planning and patience. The tortoise is a better bet to reach big accomplishments than the hare. The combination of the Sagittarius Moon’s optimism and overreaching and Saturn’s application of hard work toward goals can get a lot accomplished. Thursday, the 12th, is also my son Eli’s 30th birthday, as well as my nephew Marc Metzner’s. Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin were both born on the same day in 1809.
Friday is one expansive, buoyant day with the Sagittarius Moon making a Grand Fire trine to Jupiter in Leo and Uranus in Aries. Innovation and out-of-the box insights abound. At the least, this day will feel spacious, sunny, and brilliant. At most you may make a big discovery or experience some tremendous good fortune. This is a day with abundant gifts to use wisely.
The Sagittarius Moon squares Mars Saturday morning, which can be unsettling and insensitive. Be conscious of your interactions. This ushers in a VoC Moon period (7:15 AM-2:24 PM Pacific Time), so enjoy a hike or a leisurely breakfast, and do some gardening or reading. Save shopping or anything requiring definitive actions until after 2:24 PM. The Moon then enters Capricorn at 2:24, bringing us back down to earth and the responsibilities of daily living!
Sunday is crowned with the weekly dynamic challenging energy of the Moon’s light on the tightening Uranus-Pluto square. Honor the surprises and messages that may be delivered through edgy situations. To what do you need to pay attention and change?
Henry Seltzer, owner-developer of Time Passages Software (www.astrograph.com) wrote recently in his weekly column about the opportunity of this last (of seven over the past three years) Uranus-Pluto square that will be exact on March 16: “All this energy in support of the individual’s role in relation to the needs of the collective is related to the extreme evolutionary pressure for transformation represented by Uranus and Pluto in combination, still less than a degree apart from a perfect square formation, as they begin to come together for one last exact hit by the middle of next month. We, each of us, must face what it is that we need to change in our own individual lives, that we might live up to the potential that we have as human beings to make the best out of this individual incarnation, for ourselves and for the possibilities of service to the surrounding collective. This is a daunting mandate that can only be fulfilled by an increase in consciousness on the part of everyone. As Dunne put it so succinctly four hundred years ago, referring to news of a death, “Do not seek to ask for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet and before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. You will more easily get lost or meander if you’re trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
