In the Stars October 13-20, 2019…shining light on the astrology of the week: Full Moon

For one last week the Sun shines in Libra, the sign symbolizing relationship, balance, fairness, and beauty. We want to participate in social affairs, especially at this time. Libra is an action-oriented cardinal sign. Continue to set things in motion, as when the Sun moves into Scorpio next week, it will be time to consolidate and complete projects, and turn inward.

A tight T-square is formed by Sunday’s Full Moon that squares the Saturn-Pluto conjunction; these aspects may be edgy and challinging. The North and South Nodes in Capricorn and Cancer create a loose cardinal Grand Cross.  This grouping of planets can contribute to feelings of fear or dread about moving forward with goals and plans. The Full Moon’s benefic aspects to Jupiter lighten the load, tempering and uplifting the challenging energies. A Saturn-Mercury sextile is also helpful, as this aspect may help us accept ideas previously rejected, and figure out ways to resolve problems methodically.

Monday morning will probably carry an unfocused start before the Moon moves to its sign of exaltation, Taurus, at 9:24 a.m. PDT. Then there is a shift to a calmer energy where pleasure and comfort are the focus. Although the Taurus Moon offers stability, a Sun-Pluto square pushes us beyond comfort, and the Moon-Uranus conjunction is likely to bring something unpredictable.

A Mercury-Neptune trine on Tuesday lifts us to greater heights. We can imagine excellent solutions, and we dream…and we can combine dreams with practical action. We have an urge to merge, and yet, practical attention keeps us on point. We attend to all things sensual.

The Moon is void of course all day on Wednesday. We may be talkative, but not a lot will be accomplished. This is a day for gardening, reading, or sorting if possible, rather than for meetings and getting things done.

The Moon is in conversational Gemini on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday we can juggle demands with ease and flexibility. Our hearts are engaged, as well as our heads. Conversation will yield good results.

We may be slow to wake up on Friday, mystified by our dreams (Moon square Neptune). We are optimistic and feeling good on Friday, though we may over-commit, led by our enthusiasm. The Sun and Moon make a flowing trine in air signs, giving ease, and setting a friendly stage for a social evening.

The Moon is in Cancer on Saturday and Sunday, turning our focus toward home and family for the weekend. On Saturday we can tap into insight and understanding, and we may experience a sweet surprise.

Sunday is an active day of planetary activity. The main theme is a benefic Venus-Saturn sextile, which grounds relationships, and encourages us to shore up our finances. This is a good day to lean into home improvement projects.

Monday morning will likely hold a slow start with the Moon void of course from 5:39 9:29 a.m. PDT. You may want to catch a little extra sleep. Then, at 9:29 a.m. the Moon jumps into enthusiastic, playful Leo. A romantic Venus-Neptune heightens our imagination and inspiration. Our preferences may be challenged  by  a square of Mars to the nodes.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
