In the Stars March 8-15, 2020…shining light on the astrology of the week: Full Moon

The week begins with a brilliant Supermoon Full Moon in Virgo that aligns well with the many planets in industrious Capricorn, and Mercury turns direct, both occurring on Monday.   A lot can be accomplished this week. Examples of Mars’ out-of-bounds erratic behavior are the stock market fluctuations and the changing landscape of the Democratic presidential race. The South Node, Mars, Pallas Athena, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all remain in Capricorn this week. One aspect of Capricorn’s symbolism is fear, and a lot of fear is now being generated with the reporting about the coronavirus. Sun and Neptune are in visionary, compassionate Pisces. Strong energy is available for tremendous productivity and imaginative problem solving. Sunday, March 8th Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00 a.m..

Daylight Savings Time arrives early Sunday morning, taking an hour of our sleep. The Moon is in Virgo on Sunday, fostering a day for getting organized and attending to many tasks and details. The Sun conjuncts visionary Neptune, lifting us up to a larger cosmic picture. Venus and Uranus conjunct in Taurus and make a sizzling, benefic trine to the Virgo Moon. We open our hearts to love and exciting possibilities. Much can be accomplished this day, and we can expect a few nice surprises.

Monday sports a Supermoon Full Moon in Virgo, numerous mostly-benefic aspects. The term Supermoon is given to Full Moons that are closest to the earth in its orbit, called “perigee,” making it bigger and brighter than regular Full Moons. Mercury turns direct at 8:49 p.m. PDT. When planets are stationary turning direction their energy is extra potent. There are intense, practical, work-oriented energies at play with five planets in Capricorn making benefic trines to the Virgo Moon. At the same time there is a mystical, intuitive, compassionate energy with Neptune conjuncting the Sun in the Full Moon alignment. This is an inspiring, power-packed day. Much can be accomplished. Make the most of this high-energy awesome day, and if stationery Mercury plays a few tricks, so be it.

Tuesday is a cosmically light day compared with Monday. The Moon is in copasetic Libra. We gravitate to beauty and harmony and keeping the peace. A Moon-Chiron opposition may bring up relationship issues for healing. The Moon’s square to the nodal axis presses for balance and equality in relationships.

Wednesday holds the weekly lunar square to Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn. This tension demands sensibility and responsible action. Lean into your work with grace.

Feelings run deep on Thursday as the Moon moves into Scorpio. Lunar oppositions to Uranus and Venus may bring unexpected events, and surprising emotional issues. Take some time alone for yourself.

We continue to dive deep into more mysterious matters on Friday through the energy of the Scorpio Moon. There are numerous aspects, mostly positive. Step into your power for good. At the same time, take some space for yourself, as the Scorpio Moon encourages deep pondering and observation.

We greet the world on Saturday with a buoyant, positive attitude, infused with the energy of the sunny Sagittarius Moon. A Sun-Pluto sextile gives us strength and drive to move things forward. A benefic Mars-Neptune sextile fosters visionary action.

Sunday is a rest day! The optimistic Sagittarius Moon calls us to exercise movement, and adventure. Travel through some good reading that expands your world.

It’s a slow start Monday morning due to the Moon being void of course through 9:25 a.m. when it moves into taciturn Capricorn. Then it’s time to get down to business and make things happen. Mercury moves into Pisces where it is in its fall; our thinking may be a bit cloudy.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
