In the Stars March 25-April 1, 2018…shining light on the astrology of the week: Full Moon

Mars in Capricorn is serious about getting things moving, and working with powerful focus on big projects. However, some of Mars’ capable power may be diminished by Mercury in retrograde motion until April 15.  When Mercury is retrograde, it is time to review, re-think, and revise plans and projects. Clean up email and clear clutter, rather than start new projects. This week’s Virgo Moon, together with Mars and Saturn in Capricorn, can help us get organized, and get a lot accomplished. This week’s Venus-Uranus conjunction may deliver some surprises. Maximize the potential of this conjunction by trying something new or different.

Palm Sunday is an active day with numerous benefic, as well as challenging aspects. The aspects play out on a Cancer Moon palette, focusing on home and family. The various aspects may give vision, irritation, exuberance, hope, tests and challenges, and perhaps a few surprises. Sunday holds a mixed day of energy patterns. Stay open, and do your best to navigate the twists and turns of this day.

Monday and Tuesday glow with the light of a happy, playful Leo Moon.  On Monday afternoon the Moon makes a benefic trine to the Sun. After a challenging weekend, enjoy a sunny start to your work week.

Give some attention to communications and connections on Tuesday morning. A Jupiter-Moon square later in the day can make us feel boastful, as well as overextended. Rein in your pride and any tendency toward excess.

The industrious Virgo Moon Wednesday through Friday morning signals a time to tend to practical matters and get organized. Numerous powerful, positive aspects aid the cause, and provide tremendous energy to get a lot of work done. However, a twist in the mix is a Venus/Uranus conjunction, exact on Wednesday. This aspect may reveal something new. If an exciting opportunity takes you off your clean-up track, go with it. You cannot pass up the splendid surprises that this aspect may dish up. To encourage access to this energy, try something new, or do something in a different way. The Sun’s square to Saturn on Thursday demands hard work, and mastering a few challenges.

On Good Friday Venus moves into Taurus for the next four weeks, until April 25. Taurus is the sign that Venus rules, and where it is comfortable and high-functioning, calling us toward all things sensual and beautiful. Friday, also known in Spanish as Viernes, is Venus’ day of the week. At 10:52 a.m. the Moon moves into Libra, the other sign of the zodiac  that Venus rules. Thus, all things Venusian are highlighted on Friday: love, money, beauty, and sensuality. Wear your most beautiful clothing and jewelry, and speak kind words. Shower others with love and appreciation.

As the Sun rises on Saturday morning, March 31, it forms a Full Moon. This is a dynamic, action-oriented cardinal Full Moon that calls out relationship issues. The Libra Moon and Aries Sun focus concerns on self in relationship. Can we be ourselves in relationship, and can we allow others the respect, space, and support to be themselves in relationship as well? A close Mars-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn makes a tense, challenging square aspect to this Full Moon. These aspects increase tension, but the tension can also deliver results and resolution. Retrograde Mercury is conjunct the Sun, inviting inner reflection on relationship matters. Surprising, positive solutions and discoveries may result from the Venus-Uranus conjunction that makes a benefic trine to the Mars-Saturn conjunction. Use this powerful Full Moon to increase your relationship quotient.

Easter Sunday, which is also April Fool’s Day, glows in the light of the Libra Full Moon during Easter morning’s services and celebrations. A Sun-Mercury conjunction fosters kind and graceful communication. The Moon is Void-of-Course from 11:29 a.m. to 3:57 p.m., signaling a time to relax. Enjoy a special family meal, and take a leisurely walk. When the Moon is in Libra, we want to soak in the beauty that surrounds us. It could be a good afternoon to visit an art gallery, or a public garden or park. The Moon makes oppositions to Uranus and Venus, so once again, it is another day to try something new and be open to surprises. Make room for the magic to reveal itself.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
