In the Stars June 23-30, 2019…shining light on the astrology of the week

We are now at the height of summer, and the Sun is on the side of its descent from the light. Neptune turned stationary retrograde on the summer solstice last Friday for a five-month backward spin until November 28. Have you experienced the nebulous, spacey energy of Neptune the past few days with misses, confusion, and things forgotten? The summer eclipses are near. The Solar eclipse is July 2, and the Lunar Eclipse is July 16; these are potent eclipses tied in with Saturn, Pluto, and the nodes. We never know what eclipses will bring, but the energies intensify, and it is best to slow down and keep things simple during the first two weeks in July.

Sunday is yet another dreamy day, and one where we may feel overextended by the day’s activities. You can stretch toward your goals, and can accomplish some things. Allow your vision and imagination to guide you.

Most of Monday is again colored by the compassion and inspiration of the Pisces Moon. The Moon is void of course from 4:10 p.m. to 7:38 p.m. PDT, at which time it bounces into Aries and begins a new zodiacal cycle. You may be fired up the last few hours of the evening to get a lot accomplished before bedtime.

Put on your running shoes and get going on Tuesday, as it is a go-getter day. Known as Martes in Spanish, Tuesday is the day associated with the planet Mars, the ruler of Aries. The Moon is in Aries on Tuesday, making it a doubly hot, fiery day. The Moon forms a Last Quarter Moon square; both luminaries are in cardinal, action-oriented signs Aries and Cancer. You may feel the tension between independence and the needs of home and family.

Wednesday is an active, demanding day. While the day is buoyed by a Moon-Jupiter trine, lunar squares to demanding, intense Saturn and Pluto call us to our responsibilities. Lean in, and give this day the works.

Thursday sizzles with the excitement that solar and lunar aspects to Uranus can create. While the Moon is in comfortable resistant-to-change Taurus, the day’s aspects are provocative and may take you way out of your comfort zone. Surrender to the unexpected.

Venus’ Day (Viernes) Friday is easier and more settled than the few previous days. The earthy, habit-loving Taurus Moon makes a benefic trine to Saturn, supporting a strong work day. We are grounded and sensible, and much can be accomplished. A lunar aspect to Neptune is a bit dreamy and sweet. Relax and enjoy a beautiful, sensual Friday evening with those you love.

Saturday is an excellent day for gardening with the Moon winding its way toward the end of Taurus, and in sextile aspect to Mars in Cancer. Weed, plant, and water, and whistle while you work. After a satisfying industrious morning, the Moon moves into Gemini at 2:09 p.m., creating a curious, social buzz. Gather with friends for engaging conversations in the evening.

Take a short, yet expansive trip on Sunday. We yearn to learn to something new, and want to be inspired. Check in with your siblings.

Mars enters sunny Leo on Monday, lifting our spirits, and urging us toward play and and creativity for the next seven weeks until August 18th. The Moon is void of course from 2:48 p.m. through 6:24 p.m., and then it moves into Cancer, calling us toward a comfortable dinner and evening with family. The Moon is dark, just before the New Moon Solar Eclipse on Tuesday. Pause, and take some solitude.

Fun fact of the week: Chiron, the planetary object discovered by Charels Kowal in 1977, has an elliptical orbit between Saturn and Uranus and is now classified as both a minor planet, Minor Planet 2060, and a comet, known by the cometary designation 95P/Chiron. The term proto-comet has been used. Chiron is in a class of objects that cross over one or more of the orbits to planets from Saturn to Pluto (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto). These objects have now been officially classified by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) as Centaurs. In addition to Chiron, the first Centaur to be discovered, other Centaurs include Pholus, Nessus, and Chariklo.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.

Somehow I haven’t received your weekly “In the stars…” since the end of June 2019. Would you please re-enlist my email on your list of recipients?
    Thanks 🙂
