The euphoria and expansion of the Jupiter-Neptune trine that was exact on Saturday, December 2, continues throughout the coming week. The Sun, flanked by Venus, Saturn, and Mercury in sunny Sagittarius, keeps our spirits high. In spite of dark reckonings [Mars opposite Uranus] like the outpouring histories of celebrity sexual harassment, the season remains sunny and bright. Mercury turns retrograde Sunday, December 3, so it is time to reflect and revise plans and projects. The Mercury retrograde three-week period is conjunct Saturn, calling for serious, discerning focus on all aspects of our lives. While Mars just passed its exact opposition to Uranus–a time prone to accidents or creative breakthroughs–this aspect is still in effect throughout the week. It is tied into a challenging cardinal T-square with numerous other planets [Eris, Palls Athena, and Uranus in Aries; Juno and Pluto in Capricorn; and Mars in Libra]. The Mercury/Saturn conjunction makes a trine to Uranus and a square to Chiron. These many alignments provoke a lot of action. Keep moving! While it is not a time to start new projects, it is a great time to solve old problems and revise thoughts that may be stuck and could benefit from innovation. Overall, the planetary alignments support the joy and generosity of the season. Be sure to share your bounty with those less fortunate.
Sunday the Moon is in curious and conversational Gemini, forming a Full Moon to the Sagittarius Sun. Neptune squares this Full Moon, both clouding and uplifting issues. Perhaps even more formerly hidden secrets and illusions will be revealed this week. This is a Super Full Moon, with the Moon in close proximity to the Earth, magnifying its appearance and emotional intensity. Jupiter trines Neptune exactly, the first of three exact trines the next eight months. This is a divine, visionary aspect that calls us to the ideal, to release resentments, then to move toward compassion and forgiveness. This aspect provides a holy umbrella over us through August. Mercury turns retrograde for three weeks. Sunday is not a good day for sorting out what is true; rather, it is a day for considering many options. Sunday also features several other tight, challenging aspects: a T-square with Mars, Uranus/Pallas Athena and Juno; and another square with Saturn/Mercury and Chiron. With multiople tense aspects, this day will be one when issues will need to be addressed. Be prepared to pay to play.
Monday morning’s Gemini Moon is primed for both reason and intuition. It is slow and thoughtful, and also brilliant and generative, making benefic aspects to Mars and Uranus. See how many creative solutions to standing problems you can concoct before noon! For exactly 48 hours from 12:37 p.m. PST, the Moon is in its own ruling sign of Cancer: lunar light shines on home and family. Make a warm and nourishing dinner. Comfort food calls.
Chiron turns stationary direct at 24 Pisces on Tuesday, illuminating what needs to be healed. The Cancer Moon forms a promising Grand Water Trine with Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Scorpio. If we tune in, and consider our feelings and intuition, we may understand the emotional needs of ourselves and family, and know how to address them.
Our minds are supercharged with energy on Wednesday, We can be focused and determined [Mercury conjunct Saturn], and courageous in speaking our truth [Mars sextile Mercury/Saturn]. The Moon is void of course for a few hours from 9:56 a.m. through 12:37 p.m., so use the time for review and re-thinking. Then at 12:37 p.m. the Moon bounces into playful Leo tropically through Friday afternoon. The joy of the season emerges!
Thursday is a glowing, enthusiastic day. Boldy connect to the best of yourselves, and to what is right with the world [Moon conjuncts Ceres and the North Node in Leo, and makes benefic trines to Venus and the Sun in Sagittarius]. The only challenge is that we may try to do too much and feel overextended. Thursday is a day to give generously from the heart.
Although Thursday was merry and bright, Friday is golden! It sparkles with a Grand Fire Trine [Moon in Leo, Mercury/Saturn in Sagittarius, and Uranus in Aries]! The day invites us to say “yes” to creative, brilliant solutions. Get moving, and capture the magic of this day. Late afternoon (3:09 p.m. PST) the Moon arrives in work-oriented Virgo for the weekend.
While there may be holiday parties to attend over the weekend, the stage is set for getting a lot accomplished. Take advantage of the efficient, organized energy of the Virgo Moon to get your Christmas shopping done, cards written, decorations up, and baking done. Yes, you could accomplish all, if not most of your holiday “to do” list. Mars leaves Libra, where it does not function at its best, and enters Scorpio, where it functions well. This shift also contributes wind in our sails.
A Mercury-Uranus trine colors Sunday brilliant and exciting. However, at the same time a Venus-Neptune and a Mercury-Chiron square may foster uncertainty. Lunar squares to Mercury and Saturn may present obstacles. In the midst of various mixed energies this last day of the weekend, hold to the insight and clarity of the Mercury-Uranus trine, and meet any obstacles in your path with skillfulness and intelligence.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
