In the Stars August 25-September 1, 2019…shining light on the astrology of the week

This week six planets move into Virgo on August 29, my birthday: Mercury, Venus, Mars, the Sun, Moon, and Juno. I love all this Virgo energy. It is wind at our backs getting our lives in good order, attending to details, and cleaning house.

On August 29th Mercury moves into Virgo, and for two weeks (August 29-September 13) this multiple Virgo planet work party is a powerful team. A great deal of work can be done with creativity and efficiency. Pick a project or goal and engage this stellium of Virgo planets to help you accomplish more than you thought possible. The Moon is void of course almost all day on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This is a week to plan wisely to make the most of the energies.

Sunday starts slowly, and it may be hard to get going with the Moon void of course until 2:05 p.m. PDT. Then the Moon eases into Cancer, and we are focused for the rest of the day on home and family. Sunday evening the Moon aligns benefically with the Sun and Mars. Prepare a nourishing dinner and get ready for the week ahead.

Pleasant surprises may occur on Monday through the benevolence of a Venus-Uranus trine. The magnetic Cancer Moon is in-between Venus and Uranus, forming opportunistic sextiles. Lest you forget your responsibilities, a Moon-Saturn opposition will remind you to take care of business. A benefic Moon-Neptune trine kisses the evening with sweetness and good dreams.

After a night of powerful dreams, the Moon is void of course all day Tuesday. This is not a day for meetings or activities requiring decisions and connections. Rather, handle routine, insignificant tasks. Tuesday is a day to exercise compassion and caring. At 4:53 p.m. PDT the Moon leaps into enthusiastic Leo. Then we are fired up for an active evening, to be followed by an exuberant Wednesday.

Wednesday morning is lit by the spark of a Mars-Uranus trine that is high voltage electrical current. Channel this energy into projects that benefit from a kick-start. A Moon-Jupiter fire sign trine colors the evening with possibility. This is a day for making things happen.

Thursday—the 29th—my birthday—is a day of possibilities. Uranus is trine the Sun, as well as it is trine the stellium of six planets in Virgo (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Juno), which may present possibilities and pathways we would not ordinarily consider. The Leo Moon is void of course nearly all day until it moves into Virgo at 4:57 p.m. PDT, and the Moon is dark, just before the New Moon tomorrow. Take some space for yourself.

Friday brings a New Moon in Virgo, flanked by four other planets in Virgo, as mentioned above. This is a hard-working, efficient Virgo Moon, especially with Mars within one degree from the Sun. Saturn and Uranus in earth signs (Capricorn and Taurus respectively) give a push, and make this New Moon even more potent. A Neptune opposition adds some softmess, and may prevent burnout. Make this day count. A great deal can be initiated and accomplished.

The Moon is void of course almost all day on Saturday from 1:46 a.m. to 4:08 p.m. PDT. This is a great day for attending to routine tasks and putting your house in order. Don’t waste time on shopping or meetings. There are a few jagged minor aspects that can be disconcerting. Keep yourself focused on the goal of getting a lot of small things accomplished. By evening the Moon flows into Libra, and we are ready to get cleaned up and enjoy an evening out with our beloved or special friends.

Sunday is a brilliant day; Mercury trines Uranus. Venus makes a benefic trine to Saturn, making work a pleasure. Although a Moon-Saturn square can feel constrictive, a Jupiter-Moon sextile assures us that all really is well. Conversations may yield great ideas.

Monday is yet another day when the Moon is void of course for almost the whole day (1:33 a.m. – 4:35 p.m.). Stick to insignificant, routine tasks, and don’t waste your time in meetings and connections that will not deliver. A Venus-Jupiter square is the main aspect of the day. This may

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
