In the Stars July 1-8, 2018…shining light on the astrology of the week

We draw closer to the season of eclipses occurring on July 13, July 27, and August 11. Mars is conjunct the South Node, indicating a potent, volatile time. Use this strong energy to get lots of exercise and to make things happen, but watch your temper and stay cool.

Monday and Tuesday are soft, easy days. Wednesday is the one day when the Moon is void of course all day. When the Moon is void, it is not aspecting any planets.  It is best to read, clean, garden, and attend to routine, more inconsequential matters. Thursday and Friday harbor great productivity. Then, the weekend is made for experiencing pleasure.

After a demanding work week, we can engage with friends, and relax somewhat. Explore something new on Sunday, and after the Moon goes void of course at 3:56 p.m. PDT, relax and shake off the week. Look back at all you have accomplished during the past week, and ease into the holiday week ahead. Get ready for the work week on Sunday evening, and lay out your clothes for Monday, as the Moon is void of course on Monday morning until 10:31 AM.

It can be difficult to get going on Monday morning, due to the void Moon. If you’ve prepared well the night before, you will be fine. Otherwise, it can be difficult to decide what to wear and to pack up for the work day’s needs. The Moon is in dreamy Pisces after 10:31 a.m., and it makes soft, benefic aspects to Saturn and Uranus. Go with the flow and seize whatever opportunities Monday sends your way.

We are inspired and uplifted on Tuesday by the soft, sweet Pisces Moon’s benefic aspects to Sun, Jupiter, and Neptune. These planets form a Grand Trine in water signs, holding us gently in emotional waters of kindness, sensitivity, and well-being. All seems well when you allow yourself to soak up these energies. Dream of possibilities, and feel the support around you.

The Moon is void of course all day Wednesday. While you can bask in some of yesterday’s glow, the day is not made for meetings, decisions, or accomplishments. The dreamy, soft focus is good for taking care of your garden, reading a book, and taking in a movie. Chiron is stationary retrograde.  Give yourself a good rest in anticipation of Thursday’s energetic day.

Bounce out of bed and get moving early on Thursday. The Moon is in fiery Aries, making us want to get up and go! The days holds several mixed aspects, a Mars-Mercury opposition being one of them. Think twice before speaking, as this is an aspect prone to verbal aggression. A Sun-Jupiter trine gives courage and confidence. Use it wisely.

The Aries Moon sports another bold day on Friday. The energies are brassy and edgy, due to lunar squares to the Sun and Pluto. Lean into this edgy energy and take on a challenge, but avoid power struggles that may arise.

All things sensual are highlighted Saturday and Sunday, as the Moon is in Taurus. Take a walk in nature, enjoy delicious food, listen to inspiring music, and set your sight on visual pleasures. The Taurus Moon conjuncts Uranus and makes a benefic trine to Saturn. Change can be made in a disciplined manner. You can break out of ruts. To get started, intentionally set a goal to change a habit that you could better live without.

Sunday is a soft, dreamy day, as the Sun trines Neptune. The planetary alignments invite a day at the beach or an afternoon watching movies, or another meditative walk in nature. When the Moon makes a benefic trine to powerful Pluto early Sunday evening, it is time to get organized and plot the week ahead.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
